Scope

Fortified by the success of the previous experience, MediaWiN 2007 in Aveiro, Portugal and MediaWiN 2006 in Athens, Greece, MediaWiN 2008 will be again organized in association with the IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC 2008). ISCC is an excellent forum for presenting ideas and results at the junction of communication and computation and provides the perfect framework for hosting the third edition of MediaWiN Workshop.

MediaWiN 2007 offers the opportunity to leading researchers, industry professionals, and academics around the world to meet, present their work, and discuss the latest advances in multimedia systems, services, and applications over wireless networks.  The aim of the forum is to disseminate research results, introduce novel applications, promote new ideas, share experiences with real systems and networks, and foster liaison creation between the research, scientific, and industrial communities. Visionary, rigorously presented papers that can steer discussion to new topics are welcome.

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by at least three independent reviewers, including a TPC member.  Papers must present original and unpublished work and should not be currently under review by any other conference or journal.

Topics of interest

The focal topics of the Workshop include the following:

Multimedia Services Design and Characterization

Mathematical Models for Multimedia Applications

Experimentation: Testbeds, Field Trials and Empirical Results

Multimedia Services over Resource-constrained Wireless Networks (WSN, WPAN)

Multimedia Services over Wireless LAN, WAN and Ad-hoc Networks

Emerging Standards and Technologies for Wireless Multimedia Communications
